Building My First NH35 Watch

Before designing a GÜNTHER watch, I wanted to understand what goes into assembling one. This first NH35 build is not a GÜNTHER prototype. It is a learning project—a chance to develop practical experience with movement handling, dial and hand installation, casing, regulation, and quality control. I’m documenting the process honestly: what works, what goes wrong, and what I learn along the way.

Bill Of Materials

  • Case - 39mm diving case for NH35/NH36 - $59.93

  • NH35 Automatic Movement - $51.34

  • Dial 28.5mm Dive Dial BGW9 Lume 3 O’Clock Date Window - $51.08

  • Hour & Minute Hands with BGW9 Lume - $28.10 (Plan to use blue second hand from another set of hands)

  • Second Hand - Ice Blue Second Hand $17.28 (Came with hour minute hands plan to use on seperate build)

  • Strap/Bracelet - TBD (have plenty of 22mm straps to try on it in brown leather)

The goal is to assemble my first mechanical watch using these components. Estimated Project Cost: $207.73 (before tax and strap). Should be a good first look at watch building. I also recently purchased a timegrapher and have been measuring the accuracy of my existing mechanical watches. Once the NH35 arrives, I'll record its factory performance before attempting my first regulation. I also found a few watches in my collection that I plan on adjusting as well once I have enough confidence in what I’m doing. Updates coming this week after the movement arrives! I’ll also send pics of all the components not just listings once they arrive.
